KL Rahul is the latest Indian casualty, and will miss out on the third Test against England. Sarfaraz Khan will make his Test debut for India.
ESPNcricinfo’s Deivarayan Muthu writes about the thrilling Ranji Trophy game between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where the latter had to chase down 355, including a pitstop at 199/5 and a T20-like finish with 29 needed off the last 18 balls.
Cricbuzz’s Vijay Tagore reports that the BCCI wants to mandate that players make themselves available for domestic matches if they have not been picked for the national team, and can’t just bide their time waiting for the IPL. *cough*Ishan Kishan*cough*
Wisden’s Ben Gardner has a good story about when such a policy goes too far, as he writes about how South Africa have been unnecessarily strict about not letting their SA20 players play for the national team, including the scarcely used Temba Bavuma.
The Hindu’s Mohamed Imranullah reports that the Tamil Nadu government is considering allowing alcohol at public events with certain restrictions - so drinks at Chepauk may be a reality soon!
